“If it’s a question of my heart, you got it.”

People ask why I chose to know my biological father.


My question is…


Why wouldn’t I?


I spent years believing I could heal around his absence.


Then one day, I realized…


I am half of him.


How could I understand myself…

while refusing to understand the people I came from?


My father had conditions.


My mother had conditions.


But conditions don’t erase humanity.


Somewhere along the way, we became better at judging people than understanding what happened to them.


I stopped waiting for my father to become the man I imagined.


Instead…


I gave myself permission to meet the man he actually is.


And that changed me.


Sometimes healing isn’t reconciliation.


Sometimes healing is simply replacing imagination…


with understanding.


“I’ll keep letting my heart lead, and maybe that’s enough to build my legacy.”
