The people preaching grace…

sometimes abuse the vulnerable.

The people enforcing justice…

sometimes commit injustice.

What kind of world…

teaches us to become…

everything we refuse to receive?

Maybe that’s why so many of us are exhausted.

We’ve been handing out medicine…

we’ve never been allowed…

to swallow ourselves.

And my heart refuses…

to call that normal.
